HEAT UP
There’s no doubt that the quickest and cheapest way to get a Votoms story out into the world is in manga form. This simple equation has led to a LOT of Votoms manga from big publishers and DIY fanzines alike. Cyber Comix fit somewhere in between those two categories, handled by Bandai but loaded with unofficial takes on well-known anime franchises. We’ve seen two Votoms manga from Cyber Comix already, and here is the third, originally appearing in Volume 12.
The author, Haruo Kamata, does not seem to have left a large footprint in the anime/manga world. Internet searches only indicate that someone by that name found work as an animator on such titles as Wings of Honneamise, Gunbuster and Demon Hunter Yohko. Those projects landed in the late 80s and early 90s, and Cyber Comix No. 12 appeared in October 1989, so this could very well be the same artist. But until more conclusive evidence emerges, we’ll just have to be grateful for his single dip into the Votoms universe.

Thanks for this! Death Angel looks strangely like Blodia from the arcade games Armored Warriors and Cyberbots but those were released in 1994 and 1995, respectively.
