Judge Dredd Megazine 237-272

The 15th anniversary of the Megazine kicked off a revealing multi-part historical overview that looked under rocks and behind furniture to lay bare all the untold stories of what a tumultuous ride it had been. At last, the multiple changes in format and content choices were explained, all of which were motivated by the need to survive in an unforgiving marketplace.

But survive it did, even as another turn of the wheel forced a page count reduction with issue 244. Extra features were cut down and there were four continuing stories more often than five, but the most important factors, range and variety, were preserved and kept the Megazine thriving. A price drop from £4.50 to £2.99 didn’t hurt, either.
