A.T. Stories, Episode 4

Arm punch cannon

In the final stages of the Hundred years war, when both sides were utterly exhausted, shortages of supplies were a chronic problem even on the planet Sunsa, one of the fiercest battlegrounds. Gilgameth’s supply lines were stretched to their limits since the second offensive, forcing the Dontol base defense force to fight with makeshift weapons. The most extreme example of this was the arm punch cannon. It fired high explosive shells with delayed fuses before they exploded, intending to use them as a substitute for mortars. Of course, accuracy was not to be expected, but at least it seemed to have a deterrent effect.

A.T. jeep

In the defense of Dontol base, it was crucial not to let the enemy realize the limited number of forces they had. This A.T. jeep was prepared to make it look to the enemy as if there were A.T.s present. As Balarant troops climbed the hillside, the upper half of the body (visible beyond the protective wall) would indeed look like a complete A.T. Due to the excessive weight carried at the rear of the vehicle, sandbags were loaded onto the hood as counterweights, so its mobility was not particularly high. Other tactics used in this battle included improvised directional mines made by stuffing turn picks into the shoulder armor of an A.T.
