Cybersuit Arkadyne, Book 2 story notes
Because of the way this story works, Jonathan Jarrard and I couldn’t construct Book 1 without also working out everything that was meant to happen in Book 2. The two weren’t just closely linked, they were to happen in parallel.
Here then is everything he and I wrote during the development period that explains Book 2, starting with my very first proposal for Arkadyne, written in 1989…
Next up, pages from Jon’s overall story draft, picking up at the end of Book 1 and going all the way to the finish line. Any details not present in my 1989 proposal were created by Jon.
And finally, my handwritten overview of Book 2 issue 1, which simplified Jon’s concept down to what could fit into an actual comic book. (He approached the project as a novelist, so he tended to write a lot more than I could use.) If we had continued forward, I would have done the same with the rest of the material. But the essence would still have been there.
