A.T. vs Other Weapons

Used as a primary weapon and all environments, Armored Troopers often fought not only enemy A.T.s, but also tanks, helicopters, and infantry. In such cases, the “strength“ of A.T. depends greatly on distance and circumstances. For example, when fighting a tank in the wilderness at long range, even the A.T.’s agile movements can be tracked with a slight turret rotation, making it highly susceptible to being shot down. Of course, A.T. armor is practically useless against the power of a tank gun! On the other hand, the turret rotation speed of a tank makes it virtually impossible to track a moving A.T. at close range.

Similarly, in anti-helicopter combat, there is no chance of winning in open areas, but the situation changes if the A.T. is hidden in a jungle or similar terrain.

The only area where they have a significant advantage is against infantry. Not only is their compatibility incomparable, but the psychological intimidation caused by a “4-meter giant” is also tremendous. This is the reason in particular that the later model Tortoise used in the battle of Port Linsben is equipped with an 11mm machine gun, an arm punch, and a flamethrower, and is said to have played a legendary role in the massacre.
