Introduction
In the world of the future, Earth is one of six planets united in a bond of mutual prosperity. Linked by Quantum Gates that allow for FTL travel, the gifts they shared with each other brought tremendous evolution to technology, culture, trade…and crime.
Faced with unprecedented conflicts, Earth created an elite force of highly-skilled law agents. Chosen from among the absolute best examples of humanity, its members volunteered for DNA enhancement to further augment their fabulous abilities. They became the Blue Eagles, known and loved throughout the six worlds.
Or, at least, that’s what they want you to think.
I first conceived this idea all the way back in 1990, the year after my professional comics career left the launch pad. I pitched it to various publishers, but didn’t get any traction. Their reasoning was that the actual story I came up with didn’t live up to its potential. Grudgingly, I put it away and got busy with other things. But there was something about it I couldn’t let go.
Thirty years later, I dusted it off again to see if it could be resurrected. I had just finished Pitsberg and wanted to see what my new experiences could bring to this story. Right away, it started blooming and expanding into whole new dimensions. It turns out those publishers were right; there was a much bigger adventure to be found here.
