2000AD Progs 201-300
The third set of 100 progs went from February 1981 through January 1983. But more importantly, it went from strength to strength with the best artists and writers in British comics all working at the top of their game. This made the comic more popular than ever, alleviating any further need for logo changes, format changes, and merge campaigns with other comics (though these years did see more than one promotional contest to win a home video game platform). The cover price climbed from 15p to 18p an issue over this time, but this didn’t hurt sales one bit.
Every issue contained six ongoing strips with Judge Dredd as the undisputed king and everything else rotating in and out. Strontium Dog and Robo-Hunter held their own, and three new blockbusters arrived in quick succession: Nemesis the Warlock (fantasy), Rogue Trooper (SF action), and Ace Trucking Co. (SF comedy). They would all go on to live long, healthy lives for years to come.
